Learning Reiki has grown in popularity as people research more about self care and how they could help to heal themselves. Reiki is about helping to keep your body in a natural state of balance. It originated in Japan, with a gentleman called Usui, which is why sometimes you might comes across its full name of Usui Reiki. From Japan it arrived in Hawaii and then progressed around the world. Reiki has grown in popularity as it works with traditional medicine.
Many Reiki students feel compelled to learn Reiki for a variety of reasons such as: wanting to feel more in control of their wellbeing, to help others, to add value to their lives, or as part of their spiritual journey. I learnt Reiki simply to help my brother who was ill at the time and with no idea that one day I would end up becoming a Reiki Master, having my own healing business or teaching others Reiki.
How Many Reiki Levels Are There?
There are three levels to learning Reiki. Reiki 1 is about healing yourself, family and friends. If you wish, you can then progress to Reiki 2, which is about healing the public, distance healing and healing animals. The last stage is Reiki Master, where you are then able to train and teach other people. There is no rush in learning Reiki. I have taught Reiki 2 to people who qualified in Reiki 1 over 10 years previously. Sometimes, there is no inner desire to progress until the time feels right for that individual. We are all on different life paths.
Sometimes, you will see Reiki being divided into four levels rather than the three. This was mainly being offered in countries like New Zealand, but it is occurring now in the UK. It is not the training method from my Usui traditional training lineage. To join the UK Reiki Federation my Reiki lineage had to be researched.

There are also guided meditations throughout the day to help people relax.
Many students do not own a therapy bed of their own and it can be an expensive outlay unless using it professionally. I therefore teach students to heal others with a therapy bed and more practically without. Where the person receiving Reiki healing is sat in a chair. Also, not everyone can lie on a therapy bed to receive healing due to health issues, so I and other former students have found it helpful to know both methods.
At the end of the day you will be fully qualified to Level 1 – First Degree in the Usui Method of Natural Healing. You will receive a Reiki Level 1 certificate to confirm this.
Price of Learning Usui Reiki Level 1 and Qualification
This is £115 currently. It is £35 deposit to secure you place and then the remainder is payable on the Reiki training day. You will need to bring your own lunch. Refreshments are provided throughout the day. Please let me know if you have any special requirements and I will do my best to accommodate.
What Time Delay Should There Be Between Learning Reiki 1 and Reiki 2?
After becoming qualified at Reiki Level 1 it is generally recommended that a gap of 1-3 months occurs before you take Reiki 2. This gives you time to work with the Reiki energy. The more you use it the more intense it seems to become. It also gives you time to heal yourself. Simply, Reiki 1 should be seen as allowing you to self heal you, whereas Reiki Level 2 is where you learn the Reiki symbols and are qualified to heal the general public and provide distance Reiki healing.
Learning Reiki With Myself
Choosing the right teacher is important; as well as finding someone who can teach you when you are available to learn. The Reiki Level 1 course I offer is taught by myself. I am fully qualified and insured Reiki Master and teacher. I can actually trace my training lineage to the original founder of Reiki in Japan. I am trained in the traditional, original form of Reiki, Japanese Reiki called Usui Reiki. I have been teaching for many years up to the Reiki Master level.
I have my own private practice, Culcheth Healing, and also write on the subject. I have been featured in the national and regional press. I am passionate about helping people discover and learn Reiki.
How Long Does It Take To Learn Reiki Level 1
It is just a one day course which is the length of time I got taught in. It is pretty intensive, which is why I can understand why sometimes it can be offered elsewhere over a two day period and a more relaxed pace. However, one day is more convenient for most people as they can use their day off, precious holiday leave or simply find it fits around family life and childcare. We start at 10am and finish at 5pm.

Where the Training Event is Being Held
The Reiki training workshop is being held in my therapy/training room in Culcheth. Previous students have attended from across the North West of England. They have found it easy to get to, because it is only 5 to 10 minutes from the M6, M62 and East Lancs A580.
