You often read about charging up crystals. This simply means giving them more energy or energising them. There is a lot of talk about using the power of the full moon to do so. However, Native Americans apparently believe that this is not always needed. They believe as we hold them and work with them they will naturally energise themselves from our body’s energy field.
Different Ways To Charge Crystals
For those of you who like giving crystals an energy power boost then here a few different methods
- Running under water – placing the crystals under the running water from the tap or a stream, for 15 to 20 minutes. Research your crystal first as crystals such as selenite, pyrite, lapis lazuili, opal and hematite are not to be left in water .
- Putting out in the sunlight – placing your crystals in sunlight for no more than an hour if strong sunlight as crystals, such as amethyst and turquoise, could fade.
- Placing in the moonlight – many people choose to use the extra powerful energy of the full moon for this. You can place outside or simply place on your windowsill.
- Charging grid – place 4 to 10 (typically quartz) in a circle pointing inwards and then put the stone you want charging in the centre. Leave for 24 hours.
- Soil burial – This can also be used as a charging method. Some like to use this in particular on grounding stones, such as smoky quartz, red jasper and black tourmaline.
- Plants – I also had a green moss agate that even after cleansing seemed very sad and low in energy. I then felt compelled to place it next to a plant. Since it has been a lot happier and its energy positively radiates. I have also used this technique on other crystals since.
It actually makes sense as crystals, like plants, come from the ground, and therefore by placing them next door to each other they seem to form a friendship or positive energy bond. I’ve also used this technique on house plants that seem a little sad after purchase and placed crystals around them and they seem a lot brighter in energy and become healthier.
